Our Fragile Existence

The reflection on human fragility that the pandemic showed us is what has inspired this series of drawings. The drawings are made with
ink and graphite on newsprint that portray ordinary people encountering danger and surprised by their fragility. All are pictured
without shoes, in pajamas or their underwear as if they were rousted from their beds and suddenly evacuated from the comfort of their
homes. My characters are astonished by their fragility but also by seemingly fragile society. The drawings are made and cut
individually. The idea of cutting them "individually" is an allusion to one’s individual experience that is also immersed in our collective
experience.
